This stretched Volkswagen is so wide its creator is constantly having to prove that it’s not the product of Photoshop.
It’s almost 10 feet wide and seats eight.
It’s wittily named the Lamando 5XL and is based on the China-only 2022 Volkswagen Lamando L.

The Volkswagen Lamando 5XL
It’s the creation of TikToker Justin, who is constantly being asked whether the car is actually real or the result of camera trickery.
It was based on the China-only 2022 Volkswagen Lamando L, a lower-slung version of the Passat.
Off the production line, the sedan has a typical five-seat layout and comes in at 71.9 inches (1.8m) wide.
The Lamando 5XL. is far from stock, stretched to almost 120 inches (over 3m) wide.
This far exceeds the US limit of 102.4 inches (2.6m) wide due to lanes typically at a maximum of 144 inches (3.7m) in width.

What are they doing with all that space?
This allows for a two-seater bench instead of a front passenger seat plus a rear bench expanded to seat five.
Justin claims that ten people can fit comfortably.
While the extra space is a plus, some compromises had to be made.
The engine appears to only be connected to the driver’s side wheel it sits nearest to with a huge hole on the passenger side of the engine bay that its creator was able to stand in.
However, in the video, we can only see the car moving slowly with its one-wheel-drive layout.
