This is the Strutt ev¹c, a semi-autonomous mobility device that’s like the Ferrari of mobility scooters.
Or maybe the Tesla of mobility scooters.
Still, the bottom line is this is no ordinary mobility vehicle.
And, for once, design has nothing to do with it.
Introducing the Strutt ev¹c
Sometimes, companies over-rely on design to make a point.
But Strutt didn’t do that.
At first glance, the Strutt ev¹c looks pretty normal.

Its design is a bit sleeker and more modern than most mobility scooters, but it doesn’t look like a Transformer.
The seat looks more or less like an office chair, and you have controls on both armrests – plus a small display on the right side.
However, under the surface, there’s a lot to unpack.
The Strutt is semi-autonomous

The Strutt (loving the name, by the way) ev¹c is the Tesla of mobility scooters because it’s very advanced and semi-autonomous.
But with a key difference: while Tesla only uses cameras, the ev¹c uses LiDAR and additional sensors, just like Waymo.
The idea is to take the stress out of navigation: if you miss an obstacle right in front of you for whatever reason, the Strutt ev¹c will detect and automatically avoid it.
Supercar Blondie presenter Sergi, for example, kept trying to drive it into park benches and other obstacles, but the ev¹c did its job and kept him safe.
It can also be operated using voice commands.

Not only that, it can also be driven off-road at speeds of up to 8 mph, and it features a reverse gear (with a camera), an Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) and even the ESP – Electronic Stability Program – which acts like a traction and stability control system for smaller wheels.
