Subaru gives Australia a special BRZ tS KIiro with numbered badges and bold sunrise yellow paint

Australia is getting a new, limited-run version of the Subaru BRZ that is basically impossible to miss.

It’s called the BRZ tS KIiro, and it sits at the top of the BRZ range as a flagship special, and it is spectacularly bright yellow.

Only 95 models are being sent to Australia, which means you will never accidentally park next to one.

The whole point is to stand out, and the automaker made sure that you can’t miss this amazing car at all.

Numbered badges make the BRZ tS KIiro feel properly special

The tS KIiro is built off the BRZ tS, but Subaru has added a few details that make it feel more like a collector specification than a regular production car.

There are 18-inch matte black alloy wheels, a matte black KIiro logo on the back, and an interior badge that’s individually numbered to show off just how limited it is.

Inside, Subaru has gone with a black Ultrasuede and leather combo, then added yellow stitching to the steering wheel and the gear stick.

It’s not a total reinvention, but that’s kind of its charm.

It looks like someone took the already iconic BRZ formula and made it even more striking and fun.

Sunrise yellow paint makes the Subaru so much more fun

The highlight is the paint, or should we say the paint is the highlighter?

The automaker itself calls it Sunrise Yellow, and it’s exclusive to the BRZ tS KIiro.

It’s loud, sunny, and exactly the kind of color that makes a small sports car feel special before you even turn the key.

Under the hood, it’s the same old BRZ tS.

The BRZ tS KIiro uses the same 2.4-liter engine as the rest of the lineup, but buyers can choose either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic, and it’s still a rear-wheel drive.

In Australia, pricing starts at AU $53,590, which is around $35,857 USD for either transmission, which puts it AU $800 above the standard BRZ tS car.

With a limited-edition car with numbered badging and a sunny, funny one-off paint job, it feels like Subaru is making a pretty confident case for going yellow.
