Supercar Blondie gets up close with the 1-of-1 Bugatti Destrier at Pebble Beach 'that's artwork on wheels' and explains why it's so special

Supercar Blondie had the opportunity to get up close-and-personal with this 1-of-1 Bugatti Destrier at Monterey Car Week.
Monterey Car Week at Pebble Beach has been exceptional this year.
And this Bugatti Destrier is another jewel in its crown, we’re sure you’ll agree.
Once you see it, you’ll understand why Supercar Blondie called it ‘artwork on wheels’.
This year’s Monterey Car Week has been on another level
Every year, Monterey Car Week serves up the industry’s finest offerings on a silver platter.
This year was no different, but it somehow managed to take things up a notch.
Whether it was this 1-of-25 Spyker with gold details or the top-secret Jaguar Type 01, there’s been a ton of cars for the Supercar Blondie to get better acquainted with.
There’s been no shortage of stunning cars.
It’d been practically impossible to choose which car was the best looking.
But the Bugatti Destrier is certainly a worth contender for that honorable distinction.
Taking a look at the Bugatti Destrier
Based on the Bolide’s carbon fiber monocoque, the Destrier has enough about it to make it stand out.
Packing a W16 engine, it also features completely new LED headlights, a new C-line, massively flared wheel arches, and spectacular quad exhaust tips.
The cabin also shares a lot of similarities with the Bolide, but a few changes were brought in to make it more of a road trip car and less of a track car.
The seats are still basically carbon fiber sheets integrated into the tub, but they’ve been refined with the addition of leather and Alcantara.
But as nice as the interior is, it’s the exterior which is the real showstopper.
“This is artwork on wheels,” Alex Hirschi, aka Supercar Blondie, said.
“Look at this beautiful C-Line here. Completely different to anything else you’ve seen.
Around the back, 3D-printed exhaust tips dominate and floating tail lights are adorned with Destrier specific detailing.
As part of the Solitare program – making one-off Bugattis for ‘very lucky people’ – the Destrier has a Solitare plaque in its doorframe.
And if all of that wasn’t enough, the car’s name is an archaic term meaning ‘War Horse’.
