This Corvette C8 widebody kit costs the same as a family car

This is a widebody kit designed by Liberty Walk specifically for the Chevy Corvette C8 Stingray.
It’s crazy cool, but it costs the same as your average family car.

Liberty Walk, a Japanese design studio that focuses on body kits for exotic sports cars, doesn’t really do subtle.
Just a few weeks ago, they unveiled an insane widebody kit for the Ferrari 430 Scuderia.
Purists really had a hard time coming to terms with that one.

As for the C8, every panel of the bodykit is finished in a unique shade of opaque grey and adorned with black accents.
The front lip spoiler and diffuser, the massive rear wing and the wing mirrors are also finished in black.

In addition to the massively flared wheel arches, Liberty Walk also fitted a redesigned bumper, a new hood and new side sills.
At the rear, aside from the ginormous wing, you’ll find an equally large diffuser.
The Libery Walk Corvette is also fitted with new suspension and five-spoke alloy wheels in dark slate grey.
It is also covered in sponsor decals.
This is likely to divide opinion because you’ll either love the decals or hate them.

Liberty Walk hasn’t done anything to the engine, but then again the Corvette C8 gives you plenty of power to play with in its standard form.
Under the hood lives a 6.2-liter naturally-aspirated V8, delivering 490 hp and 495 lb-ft of torque.
The outrageous modifications should more or less leave the car’s performance figures unaltered.
Which means the Liberty Walk Corvette can still accelerate from standstill to 60 mph in just 3 seconds.

If you don’t like grey, the kit is also available in other colorways, including bright sunset orange.
But it’s not cheap.
The standard kit in reinforced plastic costs $19,580, while the carbon-reinforced plastic kit will set you back $21,780.
That’s a lot of cash.
You could buy a brand-new Chevrolet Trailblazer for that money.
