Classic American car brand Ford has some impressive offerings, both past and present, but this Ford F250 Ranger XLT may just jump to the top of the hot list.
The model in question is from 1978, and very clearly dominated in its prime.
With many original parts still very much intact, the Ford is a rare survivor and a magnet for any true auto collector.
However, for all the attractive perks, it comes with a very hefty price tag attached to the chassis.

This crew cab ruled the road in its heyday
Way back in the 1970s, it was a usual sight to see huge crew cabs on the open road, with many boasting a Ford badge, so it’ll come as no surprise that this Ford F250 Ranger XLT is from 1978.

The crew cab was reportedly introduced a decade before in 1965 and remained a staple in Ford’s classic lineup.
Described as ‘mid-range’, the XLT trim is often favored by truck enthusiasts, with Bayside Ford even describing the XLT option as offering ‘several upgrades over the base XL’.
But, just wait until you see what this specific model has to offer.
Listed on eBay, the bright blue truck has many classic, original parts, including the engine being an ‘almost all original Ford F250′ with new tires that are ‘of that era’.
Plus, thanks to the XLT badge, the trim would have reportedly cost over $500 to add on in old money.
The odometer states that the car has 90,426 miles and has been with the owner for more than half a decade, proving it has been very well loved.
Under the hood, though, is where the magic truly lies, with a 460 V8 engine, capable of over a reported 200HP, plus, the truck’s three-speed automatic transmission means it can take to the road with ease and power.

Considering its age, the Ford F250 Ranger XLT is commendable
Even under the hood, the Ranger is clean and in a very respectable way, but that is easily identifiable from the shining exterior.
In fact, the interior and driver’s seat are still in good condition after over 90,000 miles, and apart from some minor bumps, you wouldn’t guess the truck’s age.

The seller even notes that it is a ‘great truck’ and it’s also ‘hard to find crewcab’, so don’t just take our word for it.
Sadly, the Ford F250 Ranger XLT got away, with a reserve not met after 34 bids, and ended at a price of $61,300.
But hey, we can’t disagree that it’s a rare, impressive sight
