This is a flame-throwing robot dog, and it can be yours.

Why and what for?

Unclear, but haven’t you always wanted a flame-throwing robot dog?

This is somehow becoming a thing.

From Elon Musk’s flamethrower, marketed and sold through his ‘Boring Company‘, to Dragon Ball Z-style space pods, we’re seeing a plethora of products that are difficult to decipher and it’s even trickier to understand what they’re for.

At the end of the day, this is probably simply a byproduct of the fact that the tech universe is expanding.

These days (nearly) everything can be considered tech, and so this is simply another tech gadget made for fun.

Robot dogs per se aren’t exactly new, but until now we had never seen one with a flamethrower attached to it.

The robot dog in question is made by a company called Throwflame and it’s called the ‘Thermonator‘.

Throwflame says you can use it for wildfire control or prevention, agricultural management, snow and ice removal, ecological conservation and, of course, ‘entertainment’ – i.e., just for fun.

It’s fitted with lidars and a GPS, and you can control it remotely via Bluetooth with a video game-style gamepad.

It has a ‘range’ of approximately 60 minutes.

After that, the battery will die and you are going to have to recharge it.

And speaking of a different kind of range, the flamethrower has a range of 30 feet, which is roughly equivalent to nine meters using the metric system.

It’s not exactly the cheapest tech gizmo in the world, though.

If you want to buy it, it’s going to cost a hair under $10,000 – $9,420 to be exact.

Come on, you want one, don’t you?
