As the countdown to the GTA VI release continues following a frustrating GTA VI delay, a retailer has come up with an offer that sounds almost too wild to be real.
Fans have been waiting more than a decade for the next chapter in the blockbuster franchise.
Hype has only intensified since the first official trailer dropped and shattered viewing records.
But few expected the road to launch day to include a life event that requires quite this much commitment.

The GTA VI delay is driving fans wild
To rewind a little, Grand Theft Auto VI was officially unveiled in December 2023, confirming a return to Vice City and introducing a dual protagonist storyline.
The reveal trailer quickly became one of the most-watched game trailers of all time, signaling just how massive the demand is for the sequel to Grand Theft Auto V, which first launched in 2013.

Originally targeting a 2025 release, the game was later pushed back to May 2026, marking the first confirmed major GTA VI delay and extending the already agonizing wait.
Delays are nothing new for big-budget titles, especially ones with the scale and ambition GTA VI is promising.
Rockstar has built a reputation on polishing its games to near perfection, even if that means shifting release dates.
For fans, though, every extra month feels like an eternity, and fans have been occupying themselves by dissecting the trailer extensively.

Now comes the unexpected twist.
Norwegian electronics retailer Komplett has launched a cheeky campaign tied directly to the game’s launch day.
Social media posts and in-store posters tease what the company calls a ‘life hack’ connected to the GTA VI release.
And what exactly is the hack?
Well, Komplett has promised to give a free copy of GTA VI to anyone who gives birth on the GTA VI release day, exactly nine months after the promotion began.

The retailer even confirmed on Instagram that the offer is not a joke, encouraging fans to plan accordingly.
In Norway, generous parental leave policies allow up to 49 weeks at full salary, or 61 weeks at 80 percent pay shared between parents.
What does that mean?
That means plenty of time at home with both a newborn and a brand-new copy of GTA VI.
Whether anyone actually takes up the challenge remains to be seen.
But one thing is certain: the hype for GTA VI has officially reached new levels.
