The Conduent data breach is a data breach ranking as one of the biggest in US history, affecting more than 25 million people, and you should probably check if you’re one of them – here’s how.
Conduent handles data for healthcare providers, numerous corporations, and state agencies.
The organisation identified a cyberattack in January 2025, with hackers gaining unauthorized access between October 21, 2024, and January 13, 2025.
More than 15 million people are reported to have been affected by the data breach, but this number has since rocketed to a possible 25 million – are you one of them?

How to find out if you’ve been affected by the Conduent data breach
In a statement, Conduent said compromised data ‘may have included name, social security number, medical information, and health insurance information’, but added that ‘not every data element was present for every individual’.
The breach is considered to be particularly concerning as it involves sensitive personal and medical information, rather than just credit or debit card numbers.

The data breach will impact numerous states, and is one of the largest in US history.
Conduent has said it will notify those affected by the middle of April.
“Conduent has agreed to send notification letters, on behalf of its clients, to individuals whose personal information may have been affected by this incident,” the company told Fox News’ Cyberguy.
“Working in conjunction with our clients, we expect to send out all of the consumer notifications by April 15.
“In addition, a dedicated call center has been set up to address consumer inquiries. At this time, Conduent has no evidence of any attempted or actual misuse of any information potentially affected by this incident.”
However, in the meantime, you can use the haveibeenpwned.com, which will trawl the internet to see what data of yours is out there and let you know about data breaches connected to your email address.

What should you do if you are affected?
If you are notified that your information has been accessed in the Conduent data breach, then it’s a good idea to start closely monitoring your financial accounts and check your credit reports regularly.
You can also place a credit freeze on your account to stop anyone from opening new accounts in your name without your permission.

Set up two-factor authentication wherever possible, and change your email password.
If you share passwords across multiple sites and services, it’s a good idea to change those and consider getting a password manager to help keep things safe.
