Drinks brand Liquid Death has teamed up with Spotify on a piece of funeral merch that is equal parts funny, strange, and kind of genius.

The limited-edition drop is called the Eternal Playlist Urn, and it is available now through Liquid Death’s website.

It also comes with a Spotify experience that helps users build a personalized ‘forever mix’ to match their vibe. Yes, it is a literal party-to-the-afterlife concept, and it is very on brand for both companies.

Liquid Death and Spotify just dropped a funeral urn

The urn includes a high-tech Bluetooth speaker built into the lid, letting it connect wirelessly to phones and other devices so music can play from inside the vessel.

The design is intentionally minimal, so it looks like it belongs in everyday spaces like a mantle or a columbarium rather than something overly ornate.

The urn measures roughly seven inches by seven inches by 11 inches, weighs about 2.4 pounds, and includes a USB-C charging cable so you can keep the speaker powered up.

Another one bites the dust…

To complete the concept, Spotify has rolled out an Eternal Playlist Generator for US users.

It works like an interactive questionnaire, asking prompts that include everything from your ‘spectral style’ to what mood you would want your eternal soundtrack to have.

Based on those answers and your listening history, Spotify serves up a curated playlist that can be saved, streamed, and shared like any other playlist on the platform.

All you have to do is build a mix that feels like you, then let it live on as your soundtrack wherever you think you are headed next.

A limited number of urns are available through Liquid Death’s website, and the playlist generator is accessible to anyone in the US through Spotify’s Eternal Playlist experience.

A bit of ‘Highway to Hell’ or ‘Another One Bites the Dust’ anyone?
