Tesla has updated its Optimus humanoid robot, which now has a new name: Tesla Optimus Gen 2, as well as new capabilities.

It’s faster, and it can do more things.

It can even boil eggs.

One of the first things you’ll notice is that it finally looks (vaguely, sort of) human when he walks.

Not long ago, Elon Musk shared a video of the first-gen Optimus going for a walk around the Tesla HQ and it looked a bit funny.

It looked like an old person.

The same could be said about another video Musk shared, which showed Optimus folding clothes.

It was doing that very efficiently, but also slowly and awkwardly.

The upgraded Optimus Gen 2 who – by the way – also has its own verified account on X, looks a bit more modern and the way it moves resembles an actual human being… almost.

In the clip that Tesla shared, Optimus Gen 2 is shown squatting and boiling some eggs.

It can even dance.

Visually, it looks more futuristic, with limbs that are better integrated into the rest of the body and a new ‘face’.

It also has a new ‘neck’, and new Tesla-designed actuators and sensors.

It can walk 30 percent faster and it lost weight, too.

About 10 kg, to be exact, or 22 pounds.

More importantly, it has brand new hands, which can move faster and also allow it to handle stuff with more care, which is why it is now capable of handling eggs without breaking them.

Mind you, one thing it does not have (yet) is a price tag.

It hasn’t been revealed, but Elon Musk said Tesla Optimus Gen 2 should cost between $20,000 and $25,000, which would make it cheaper than any Tesla model currently available.
