It’s no Golf R, but this Volkswagen office chair will wheel you around the office at 12 mph.
In fact, it’s far from your average office chair.
Simply called The Chair – it can drive, honk, play music and flash party lights as you zoom into the meeting room.

It is certainly what you’d call ‘well equipped’.
The Chair is also heated and has a 360-degree rearview camera and sensor.
And that’s not all, Volkswagen has also given it a trailer hitch so you can hook your desk buddy up and wheel them along for the ride.
CHECK THIS OUT!
To control all of these weird and wonderful inclusions, the chair has a touch display center.
The Chair is an actual Volkswagen car seat, just modified for the office with four inch rims in solid aluminum.

Powering it, is an electric motor giving the chair a range of 7.8 miles.
Unfortunately, the EV is just a concept at this stage.
It was made by VW’s Norwegian commercial division and there are no plans to mass produce it.
If all that has wet your appetite for a luxury car seat, you’re not totally out of luck.
Mercedes-AMG released an office chair earlier this year and it’s available to buy.

But it might cost more than your first car, because Mercedes released it for a cool $3,500.
The office chair looks like a seat taken straight out of a Mercedes and offers all the same sporty ergonomics too.
Just like those in the GLA 45 S, it’s a snug bucket seat with an integrated headrest.

It also features the same AMG badging and grippy side bolsters.
If all that wasn’t enough to convince you it was no normal office chair, this thing weighs 32kg.
The AMG Chair is cool, but until Mercedes fits its chair with a horn, music player and electric engine, it’s not quite in the same league as the Volkswagen chair.
