While most of us give up on our childhood dreams, a young man made his dream a reality when he bought a Ford Mustang for himself at the age of 19.

A viral post on X, shared by the man’s father (@Radnorguy), shows the teenager proudly posing next to his dark-colored Mustang.

The post also included a photo of the young man as a child, standing next to another Mustang, showing just how meaningful the car was to the boy.

Ford’s CEO responded to the post

The excited father proclaimed his son as a ‘Ford fanatic’, and shared that the Ford Mustang has been his son’s favorite car since he was at least 11.

The teenager also has a 1966 Mustang, which he bought at the tender age of 12, although that particular car is still a work-in-progress.

According to his father, both cars were bought using his son’s own money.

To help him pay for the GT350, he traded in his 2016 Ford Focus RS.

Ford Motor Company’s CEO Jim Farley reshared the post on X, and even responded to it.

“Loved it. Two great-looking Mustangs! Thanks for sharing!” he said.

Ford Mustang – a cultural icon

The Ford Mustang is a cultural icon, especially in the US.

It debuted in 1964 as a stylish, affordable performance car, aimed at younger buyers.

The car was inspired by the P-51 Mustang fighter plane, which played a crucial role in both World War II and the Korean War.

It was soon embraced by car enthusiasts, with more than a million built in its first eighteen months.

The car also made its way into many iconic films, including modern favorites like John Wick and the Fast & Furious franchise

While many muscle cars have dipped in popularity over the years, the Ford Mustang has retained its popularity, and Ford even dipped its toes into making an electric variant in 2020, although they stopped accepting new orders in 2022, citing increases in the cost of raw materials.
