Hurricane Helene was quite harsh for everyone in affected areas, but Tennessee locals took matters into their own hands by building a bridge out of semi trailers.
Several roads and pathways were rendered unusable, and people in remote areas had it worse.
There are only so many routes to get to a distinct part when you’re in a hilly region, and it’s not an ideal situation if that path’s cut off.
These locals could either wait for the authorities to step in or implement a makeshift solution that could get them to work.

Bridge in Tennessee made out of semi trailers
YouTuber Storm Chaser Aaron Rigsby took a trip to Northern Tennessee, near the North Carolina border.
In a video he posted, he showed how locals had built a makeshift bridge out of flatbed trailers ingeniously stacked across a river stream.
This was likely close to where a bridge used to be since there was a connecting road going uphill on the other side.
Since it was only a temporary solution, it didn’t look ideal for heavy vehicles to go across, but also seemed just enough for most trailers and cars to pass.
Moreover, it would have been quite the task for the Tennessee residents involved to put these semi trailers there.
Also, it wasn’t like this was the world’s longest airside bridge or anything, so things weren’t too drastic.
Considering the size and the ‘platform,’ it might have been a mix of cranes and several people standing in the stream.
Either way, it’s certainly one of the best ‘quick fixes’ that we’ve ever seen.
Someone built his own road sign, but that’s a far cry from such situations.
Bright minds think alike
It’s no wonder that Hurricane Helene did a lot of damage.
That’s why the government, too, would have been preoccupied and would take some time before it was back at rebuilding bridges.
Communities often come together to tackle problems like these because it’s part of their day-to-day.
That – however – doesn’t mean individuals don’t.
This TikTok user who wrapped his Corvette with bubble wrap ahead of Hurricane Milton is a prime example.
Anyway, this contraption bridge will do until the locals in Tennessee have a real one again, and it’s all because the community came together.
