One month after taking ownership of his Tesla Cybertruck, this EV owner was baffled by the responses to his choice of car, as trips to Starbucks and pizza restaurants have been filled with the same surprising reaction.

EVs are still a long way from dominating our roads. But when it comes to the likes of the Cybertruck, there’s been a bit of apprehension as the otherworldly futuristic look leaves people unnerved.

Still, there’s plenty of love for the cars, too, even in remote areas.

That’s the vibe in Franklin, Tennessee, anyway, as one Cybertruck owner has been left overwhelmed by the positive feedback to his car.

Tesla Cybertruck owner is baffled that he gets no hate for his car

Many Cybertruck owners applaud the car for its ability and comfort, but just as vehicles like the DeLorean do when it rolls up on the courts, its appearance splits opinions.

However, one man has seen nothing but radiant positivity.

Taking to the ‘Cybertruck Owners Only’ club on Facebook, Tesla Cybertruck owner Christopher John detailed the pleasantries sent his way while driving this car to hotspots like Starbucks and Mellow Mushroom pizzeria.

“I must live in an alternate universe because, almost a month owning a CT AWD and I’ve had no hate,” he said.

It insinuated that other people have had less favorable encounters, but his personal experience was joyous.

“Today, I actually got smiles, thumbs up, and comments on how cool it is.

“I went to Mellow Mushroom Pizza in Franklin, TN, popped the trunk, and sat with my wife eating a slice of pizza while watching some kids and adults river dance in the town square,” he continued.

“Another guy commented, while I had my window down, on how cool the truck was, and he saw the rear wheels turn, not knowing these trucks had that feature.

“Another lady in Mt Juliet, TN, looked over and couldn’t stop smiling. The Starbucks employees around here all ask questions about it and seem to like it.”

Other drivers began to agree, having received a lot of smiles and waves while on the road.

New EVs are continuing to divide opinions

While EVs are far from a new phenomenon, they still only make up around two percent of the cars owned in America.

So, you can imagine why the Cybertruck attracts so many eyes.

Other Tesla cars are continuing to be divisive as it is. Some people love seeing the EVs whizzing around, while other generations of drivers are not ready to make that leap from the comfort of gas just yet.

With more Cyber-related models supposedly in the works at Tesla, it’s a good sign for owners that this is the reaction that they are getting.
