Tesla Cybertruck drags Ram 1500 TRX in EV vs gas battle in Canada and it quickly gets ugly

A Tesla Cybertruck drag raced a Ram 1500 TRX in the ultimate EV vs gasoline battle.
When you throw in the classic American pickup truck, you know the battle is going to get even more intense.
The video comes from the Wheels YouTube channel, which regularly showcases epic drag races.
This one might be one of the most epic of the lot.
Would you want the Tesla Cybertruck to win?
The Tesla Cybertruck is very much a polarizing vehicle.
It is certainly recognizable, but its size, price, looks, and all its problems have made it a controversial one.
Yet it is incredibly fast, and so fast that one owner thought they could race a Ram 1500 TRX with it.
Would you want the Cybertruck to win over this monster?
We imagine that the answer to that question would be mixed, but it’s still fun to see a race like this pan out.
What is perhaps not fun if you are a Ram 1500 TRX fan is seeing how quickly the Cybertruck left the line in the video.
The Cybertruck bolted off the line and the internal-combustion rival was left to eat its dust.

The race had quickly turned ugly for the combustion part of this lineup.
As the vehicles reached the end of the dragstrip, it was a clear and easy win for the electric truck.
It reached the end of the 1/4-mile in just 11.12 seconds.
The Ram 1500 TRX, meanwhile, was over a second slower, at 12.63 seconds, as it was never able to catch up.
It shouldn’t be a surprise that the Cybertruck was so quick against a Ram TRX pickup truck.
The EV has anything from 600hp in the all-wheel drive model to 845hp in the incredible Cyberbeast version.
Unsurprisingly, the Ram 1500 TRX didn’t quite have that much power, producing between 695hp and 705hp in its previous form.
The Ram 1500 TRX is making a comeback
However, fans of the Ram 1500 TRX won’t have to despair for too much longer.
Stellantis and Ram have brought the 1500 TRX back, with the recently released TRX SRT for the 2027 model year.
This new version makes 777hp, putting it much closer to the Cybertruck’s peak performance figures.
The Ram seen in the YouTube video is unlikely to be a new TRX SRT, given they are for the 2027 model year.
So if you do prefer a combustion-powered pickup truck, you might be able to get revenge on the Cybertruck in the near future.
