When the Tesla Cybertruck powered a whole gas station on its own after tornado took out electricity in Houston

  • The Tesla Cybertruck is one of the most iconic vehicles of the modern era
  • Since its inception in 2023, the all-electric vehicle has been the topic of debate

Is there anything the Tesla Cybertruck cannot do?

Frankly, it would appear not – at least, not so far.

A video has been going viral again of Tesla’s most well-known vehicle.

This time, it’s not because a brick has been thrown at it.

Tesla Cybertruck: most controversial vehicle ever made?

The Tesla Cybertruck truly is a one-of-a-kind vehicle.

The all-electric truck is the personal brainchild of Tesla CEO Elon Musk.

Musk envisioned the pickup truck as a direct rival to the best-selling Ford F-150.

On the whole, despite its… unique nature, the Cybertruck has generally been very well-received since its inception in November 2023.

Electric powers gas: Cybertruck fuels entire station

In an almost ironic twist, the all-electric truck was filmed… powering a gas station.

No, it’s not a bad joke – a video has been filmed of a Tesla Cybertruck powering an entire gas station by itself.

Last year, a storm hit Houston, Texas.

Several people lost their lives, and many people had severe power outages.

One TikTok user, @misssbaaah, happened to be at the gas station when the Tesla powered it.

Her video shows the gas pumps, which appear to be working fine.

The video then continues inside the store, which is in darkness.

“The cash machine working, the pumps working,” says the user.

The video moves to the back door of the gas station following extension cords hooked up to the bed of the truck.

“Rigging it by this beast right here. A simple plug,” says the user.

People not impressed by Cybertruck

Perhaps surprisingly, the internet wasn’t too impressed by the Tesla truck powering the station.

One user claimed that it is simply ‘a very expensive generator.’

Another person critiqued that ‘the interior lights isn’t [sic] even on.’

Interestingly, somebody compared the Cybertruck’s performance to it’s F-150 rival.

“My F-150 Powerboost can do the same with the 7.2kW genny built in. It was a Texas storm a few years ago that I heard about and bought as a result. Use it to Power my travel trailer in silence. [sic]”

Well, that was pretty emphatic. It appears that you cannot, in fact, please everybody.

We’re willing to bet the people at the gas station were grateful, though.
