When a Minnesota man went camping in his Tesla Cybertruck, he woke up to a surprise – raccoons had attempted to break in, having seemingly mistaken the Tesla truck for a dumpster.
We know what you’re thinking: ‘The jokes write themselves’.
But these bite marks were no joke, as the raccoons did some serious damage to the vault.
It turns out that the Cybertruck may have found its Kryptonite – and it came in a furrier package than expected.
The Cybertruck has long been compared to a dumpster
If you’ve spent enough time on the internet, you’ll have undoubtedly come across some Cybertruck insults.
There’s no getting around the fact it’s a polarizing truck.
Whether it’s being branded a ‘Cyber-disaster’ or lauded as the ‘best pickup truck ever’, it’s clear that opinions can widely vary.

But one sentiment that seems to linger is the frequent comparisons of the electric truck to a dumpster.
It’s not surprising really – the co-founder of Tesla, Martin Eberhard, even made such a comparison.
And there’s at least one one out there with a dumpster wrap, proving its owner certainly has a sense of humor.

Whether the owner at the heart of today’s story will be quite so amused remains to be seen.
This camping trip took an unexpected turn when raccoons laid eyes on this Cybertruck
One Minnesota man had headed out into the woods on a camping trip with his Cybertruck.
So far, so good.
But raccoons had plans of their own and nibbled away at the vault in the back of the truck.

Fortunately, they don’t appear to have gained access to what was inside.
But they made an almighty mess, leaving muddy paw prints all over.
The story was shared to the Cybertruck Owners Club forum, where it amused other owners.
“Wow, glad it wasn’t a bear. Damage would have been worse,” one wrote.
“Wowzers. I guess the vault is raccoon proof! Hopefully that trim piece isn’t too expensive to replace,” another commented.

Animals and cars often don’t go well together
We’ve seen this kind of scenario play out before, so it’s not all that surprising.
Animals and cars are both wonderful in their own ways, but things get messy quick when they’re brought together.
Rodents are particularly problematic, as these guys restoring a Honda Acura NSX learned the hard way.
