This Tesla Cybertruck driver thought he was going to save the day when he tried to help a Range Rover Defender stuck in the mud, but things didn’t quite work out that way.
We’d all like to do our part to help out our fellow humans, but sometimes thing don’t go to plan.
When this Cybertruck owner saw a Defender trapped in a muddy field, he decided he would be charitable with his time and his vehicle.
But it quickly became a headache for all involved.
This Range Rover Defender rescue mission became a comedy of errors
This story unfolded down in Houston, where a man saw an opportunity to help out a friend.
His pal, driving a Range Rover Defender, had driven across a muddy field in hopes of avoiding traffic.
But this backfired spectacularly as he ended up getting stuck.
This prompted his Cybertruck driving friend to come to the rescue.

While there was undoubtedly good intentions at the heart of this operation, we have to imagine there was a part of him that wanted to showcase what his Cybertruck was capable of.
At first, the rescue seemed to be off to a good start.
But as anyone who has driven through mud can attest to, it’s tricky at the best of times.
So it wasn’t long until his Cybertruck was in the exact same predicament as the Range Rover.
The good news was that he got his friend out of a pickle, but he had gotten himself into the exact same predicament.
“The mighty Cybertruck came to the rescue. I was able to pull him out, but then I managed to get myself stuck and had to be rescued by an ICE truck,” the owner recalled on the Cybertruck Owners Club forum.

Talk about a big slice of humble pie.
But this owner isn’t placing the blame on the Cybertruck.
“Overall, I was actually pretty impressed with how the truck handled it, even with the ending,” he wrote.
“I definitely need a refresher on the Off-Road app and settings. When you’re in the middle of mud and rain, you quickly forget all the stuff you read.
“I’m sure I could have chosen better settings, locked the diff when needed, etc.”

The Tesla Cybertruck is usually a valuable asset when it comes to towing
When it comes to rescue operations, the Cybertruck is usually more than capable of getting the job done.
Another Texan rescue went off without a hitch when the Cybertruck pulled a Ford F-150 out of a ditch.
To be fair to the Cybertruck, all vehicles can end up in a sticky situation.
Over in Florida, that was certainly the case when a Toyota had to save the day when a botched Range Raptor rescue left two cars stuck in the sand.
