When a Tesla Cybertruck faced off against a S650 Ford Mustang GT in Las Vegas, the gap was beyond ridiculous.
Drag races can go one of two ways – they’re either highly suspenseful and too close to call, or they’re complete slam dunks.
In this case, there was no question about who the winner was.
In fact, it almost seemed cruel to the losing car.
Taking on the Tesla Cybertruck is almost an internet fixation at this point
In the world of cars, the Tesla Cybertruck is like the new kid at school.
It almost seems like everyone wants to take it on, just to see what it’s capable of.
Oftentimes this is done through tugs-of-war or towing challenges.
And then there are people like WhistlinDiesel who take challenges to the next level and decide to launch the Cybertruck into the side of a Ford F-150.

Fortunately, most people don’t go as far as to destroy their cars.
That’s where the good old fashioned drag race comes into play.
We’ve seen the Cybertruck square off against other vehicles on the track before.
It doesn’t always go in the Tesla’s favor, as happened at Moses Lake Sand Dune with a Ford F-150 Lightning.
But then came an epic race posted to the Wheels YouTube channel.
Several EVs were vying for victory against V8 cars, then came a showdown between the Cybertruck and a S650 Ford Mustang GT.
How did the S650 Ford Mustang GT fare in this race?
This showdown took place at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
On one side of the track was the S650 Ford Mustang GT, which you’d expect to have better odds, on account of a better power-to-weight ratio.

After all, few people would put their bets on the bulkier vehicle in a race.
But appearances are often deceiving, and that was most certainly the case here.
Rocketing down the track, the Cybertruck left the GT behind in a cloud of dust not one but three times.
Each time, it managed a time of 11 seconds and with an exit speed of around 120mph.
By way of comparison, the Mustang took around 14 seconds to get down the track.

And that’s certainly not slow, let’s be clear.
But in a drag race, every second – indeed, every millisecond – counts towards victory, and it was the Cybertruck’s for the taking.
And three rounds of victory was enough to make clear this wasn’t a lucky fluke either.
The comments section underneath footage of the race was filled with the usual jibes about the Cybertruck’s appearance, as one likened it to an ‘LG fridge’.
But that doesn’t take away from the taste of victory.
