This California man posted a question online about his Tesla Cybertruck towing fail, and instead of getting the sympathy he expected, he’s told that it’s time to ‘buy an F150’ instead.

Sometimes, when you’re looking for a whine and a moan about your car, you don’t expect the internet to pile on and add more stress to the situation. But unfortunately for a Cybertruck owner, this very thing happened.

Asking for support on Facebook, a Cybertruck owner posted about his Tesla, which was hooked up to a loaded trailer and faced imminent disaster, leaving him ‘very disappointed’.

Most of the 147 commenters on the post were extremely unsympathetic to the Tesla driver’s plight and implored him to sell his Cybertruck and buy a Ford instead.

Tesla Cybertruck towing fail? Should’ve bought an F150

Instead of the expected sympathy from friends and family when you post about your EV troubles online, this Tesla Cybertruck owner had the opposite, mockery from strangers.

A Facebook user and Cybertruck owner asked fellow social media users to ‘help [him] out here,’ because it’s the ‘second time [he’s] tried to off-road while towing and it will not let [him].’

Not only did the EV’s towing capacity fail him, but the brake caused the steering to lock, which in turn sent his car sliding back down a hill, narrowly missing a structure.

He didn’t get much sympathy from anyone

A whopping 147 people weighed in on the post with lots of – primarily helpful – advice. And mostly, they said that maybe he needed to disable tow mode or remove the trailer lights from the load.

But a lot of other commenters decided that it was time for the Cybertruck owner to purchase a 4X4 truck and use that for towing instead, with one commenter writing simply:

“Sell it and buy an F-150?!

That’s a Ford F150, we think.

Another Ford truck seemed popular when another commenter wrote:

“I use my F-250, my wife gets groceries with our [Cybertruck]. This situation is further proof truck guys didn’t design [it].”

Who knows whether the Cybertruck driver will take the advice of the internet and go for a Ford truck instead of his EV. But hopefully he managed to fix that towing fail as soon as possible.
