Tesla appears to be planning to introduce an EV charging infrastructure across India as it gears up for a launch into the Indian market.
The EV carmaker has dropped some pretty large hints that it’s set to debut in India.
Most recently, it has begun recruiting in India to fill numerous roles, including specialists to help build new charging stations.
The job adverts have prompted speculation that the automaker is finally set to launch its vehicles in the country.

With the exception of the Cybertruck, Tesla vehicles are available in numerous markets outside North America, including Australia and throughout Europe.
Now it seems poised to land in the third-largest auto market in the world – India.

In February, Tesla posted more than a dozen job openings in Mumbai just days after boss Elon Musk met with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Among the jobs on offer is the role of ‘charging developer’ who will be tasked with managing the pipeline of new charging sites, overseeing installation and operation, negotiating agreements, and coordinating with property owners, government bodies.
An EV charging infrastructure will be key to ensuring the marque’s launch into the market – and the adoption of all-electric vehicles – is a success.
The carmaker is also on the lookout for delivery advisors for upcoming showrooms in Delhi and Mumbai.

It’s no secret that 2025 has got off to a tricky start for Tesla.
Figures from Cox Automotive show that during January and February of this year, US Cybertruck sales fell by 32.5 percent, higher than the overall Tesla sales decline of 10 percent.
The company is also facing stiff competition, especially from rivals like Chinese giant BYD.

However, officials in India have just blocked BYD from expanding into its market.
“India has to be cautious about its strategic interests, who we allow to invest,” Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal told Bloomberg earlier this month.
When asked about BYD’s prospects on expansion, Goyal replied: “As of now, it’s a no”.
Meaning it could be a worthwhile and timely move for Tesla to land in India in the coming months.
