The amount of money this guy has saved by driving a Tesla Model 3 instead of a gas car is enough to buy another Tesla.

This Model 3, nicknamed ‘Miles’, has covered 238,000 miles – the average distance from Earth to the Moon – in just four years.

He’s saved a ton of cash on maintenance and even more on fuel.

This is just further proof of something people have been saying about EVs for years.

‘Miles’ is still in great condition

Tesla owner and YouTuber RSymons ‘RSEV’ provided a comprehensive 4-year health check and cost analysis of a high-mileage Tesla Model 3, and the verdict is unmistakably in Tesla’s favor.

But let’s start with what’s wrong with the car.

The answer is: not much.

Despite the high mileage, the car has its original bodywork and paint, and even the driver’s seat and rear seats show little wear.

The steering wheel is the only thing that clearly looks like it’s been used for 238,000 miles.

Under the hood, you’ll find the original motors and battery, and even the brakes have never been replaced.

Speaking of the battery, it still retains 85.5 percent of its original capacity, which is also a good result.

He could buy a brand-new Tesla with the money he saved

Maintenance, as predicted, didn’t cost much.

EVs have fewer moving parts, which means fewer things can go wrong.

Aside from a faulty pedestrian warning speaker, which was an easy and cheap repair, only two things required extra attention (and money).

The owner had to replace the front suspension bushes after 140,000 miles – that’s a £1,400 ($1,900) job – and the rear motor mounts and suspension bushes, which ended up costing £1,200 ($1,600).

But the amount he saved on maintenance pales in comparison to what he saved on fuel.

This Tesla owner estimated a fuel saving of approximately £30,000 ($40,000), which is enough to buy a new Tesla.

It’s further proof that EVs can be high-mileage cars, saving you a ton in the process.
