A Tesla Model Y owner on Reddit recently created a lively debate as to how owners feel about their electric cars.

Redditer Coistrill proudly proclaimed their love of the EV and how much they have enjoyed driving it since they first got behind the wheel.

Some fellow users on Reddit agreed, but others did not, highlighting the varying opinions on one of the biggest EV brands in the world.

That created a rather fiery conversation below the main post, as some felt very different from Coistrill.

The Reddit user was overjoyed with their Tesla

The opening post explained in great detail why the EV owner was so happy with their new Model Y.

“The instant torque, the silent yet powerful electric motors, and the effortless acceleration make every drive a thrill,” is just one of the points made by the poster

That was high praise, indeed, but it didn’t stop there. The user even said that Tesla had ‘truly redefined’ the entire driving experience. Big claims, no?

Several people agreed with his assement of the Tesla driving experience.

User hellokarinakitty said they upgraded from a 2012 Honda Fit to a 2023 Model Y.

Having viewed the Honda as a tool just to get around, they now view their Tesla as something delightful to drive, saying the commute to work is their favorite part of the day.

However, not everyone shares the same opinion on Tesla.

Some users don’t find a Model Y fun to drive

Build quality is a regular talking point with the cars and this Reddit post was no exception.

User Hozkur said they loved their Model Y until it started rattling, only the smoothest roads keep the car quiet.

Tesla’s quality standards have been a big problem over the years.

Large panel gaps and unreliable software are just two of the significant issues some owners have faced with the EVs.

One person simply put ‘Kia EV6‘ and a rocket emoji. So hopefully, they meant Kia’s electric crossover was a rocket ship.

That comment at least means this user was happy with an EV, and not just a gasoline alternative.

“The Model Ys poor suspension and road noise is a clear problem that a lot of other EVs don’t have,” one user reminded everyone.

So, while some may love them, it appears that some drivers are quite unhappy with their electric cars.
