This Tesla Model Y took on a Ford police car in a nail-biting race, but the winner was clear in the end.
There’s nothing quite like a car race, is there?
The nerves, the tension, the high adrenaline action.
That’s just how most people felt watching the drag race in Grease.

How this showdown between Ford and Tesla went
In the video shared on the Wheels YouTube channel, the Tesla and cop car are shown lining up on a race track.
There’s heavy tension in the air.
Both cars have a lot on the line.
For Tesla, they have a big reputation to uphold – they’re known for pushing the limit with cars.
Nothing demonstrated that more than this video of the Model S reaching an eye-watering speed on the Autobahn.
As for the police car, being fast is part of the job description.
After all, who wants a sedate cruiser when it comes to catching criminals?
At any rate, the race was on.
But the winner was clearly the Model S, which outpaced the Ford with ease.
Even with their siren blaring, the cruiser couldn’t keep up.
How the internet reacted to this victory
As you might imagine, this race generated a lot of conversation online.
It’s not everyday that people are happy to see a car outrun the cops, but here we are.
One person remarked: “That’s the slow Tesla as well.”
Another said: “As a police car enthusiast: that FPIU can 100% go faster than it did. Shame that cop didn’t step on it, then it would have been a more fair fight.”
“Turning on the sirens gave him a +2 hp,” joked a fellow viewer.
Others joked that the Tesla driver would get arrested for beating the cop car, whilst others suggested the video would boost Tesla’s sales by ‘700%’.
