As the Tesla Optimus continues to stretch its legs in the lab, a new short video has revealed just how far the humanoid has progressed, as it sets a ‘personal best’ on the track.
As robots begin to walk among us, the greatest flaw in their design has always been their movement.
But clunky squatted step by another clunky squatted step, the humanoids have advanced to have immesurable knowledge, but their movement still represents that of a duck waddling for the first time.
To right this wrong, the Tesla Optimus has begun track and field training, and its new PB shows just how far it’s come.

Tesla Optimus is making big strides in humanoid tech
Humanoids have officially entered homes.
The army of 1X Neo robots has begun being shipped into the families of 20,000 people, serving as a real-life autonomous housemaid.
Soon, Tesla hopes that the Optimus will join it, and the EV company has been doubling down on its efforts to make the transitions as smooth as possible.
But it hasn’t been an easy road, and the robot has needed a lot of nurturing.

Ever since we first saw the Tesla Optimus move, there have been question marks over its fluidity; a short video of it tackling uneven terrain left critics very skeptical about its progress.
But multiple clips this year have been full of promise, with the robot finding its feet as a ballet dancer and working the kitchen like Gordon Ramsbot.
Now, a four-second video has showcased how quickly the Tesla Optimus is getting, and its movement is more seamless than ever before.
One small step for man, one speedy sprint for humanoid-kind
Taking to X (previously Twitter), the Tesla Optimus page posted a quick video of the robot running, adding the caption ‘Just set a new PB in the lab’.
The video, seen in the recap video of its movement at the top of this article, was by far the most fluid that it has ever looked, finally learning the right posture.

“Wow, the movement actually looks pretty natural. Can’t wait for Optimus at my house,” one fan said.
