This man from California updated his Tesla software and found what he described as a hidden feature.
Tesla is known for software updates bringing in different perks for users of its vehicles.
And now, the lighting feature brings a whole new meaning to mood lighting and will be at the top of music lovers’ wishlists.
However, it’s not the only high-tech feature that a Tesla is capable of facilitating.

This man discovered a brand new hidden feature thanks to Tesla software
When it comes to EVs, Tesla is often the car manufacturer that is ahead of the curve.
Aside from rolling out new models, the EV manufacturer also updates the software in cars to enable the cars to have extra capabilities, such as Full Self Driving Mode.

“Tesla vehicles regularly receive over-the-air software updates that add new features and enhance existing ones over Wi-Fi,” explained Tesla itself.
One driver found a cool hidden feature when he updated his car that he says is only available for 2024/2025 vehicles.
TikTok creator rguzzman shared how one Tesla update has caused a rather rare sight in his car, and one that music lovers will enjoy.
He explained that if your Tesla has ambient lighting on the door, you can sync the lights with music.
“Every time the bass drops, the ambient lighting’s kind of gonna bounce, bounce with it,” he said.
But it doesn’t just apply to the front of the cabin either.

“It works in the back, too. So, it’s pretty much a whole party,” he added.
However, it seems that this software update has been around for a while, and some users couldn’t help but comment.
“You got it just now? Lights have been syncing to music for a month now. Choose ‘advanced’ in software update settings to get the updates sooner,” said one social media user.
“You’re so real for posting this bc I had no idea,” said another user.
“I have a 2025 model Y and I don’t have this ambient lighting across the dash and door,” said a third.
But beware, as not every Tesla is able to act like a club on wheels.
“Depending on your vehicle configuration or market region, Light Sync might not be available on your vehicle,” explained Tesla.
Plus, it seems easy to enable, too, thanks to Tesla software, which also includes features such as Grok.
“Synchronize the accent and/or ambient lights in your car with the music you play for an enhanced driving experience. Select On or Night Only to choose when your lights turn on. Pick a color to suit the mood,” the brand continued.
You can also reportedly match the lights to art color of a music album too. Clever right? There were also reported updates to other features, which can help with safety.
Just ensure your vehicle is eligible, as it isn’t available on every single model.
Tesla’s EVs have many interesting features
Thanks to ever-advancing technology in the EV world, Tesla users benefit from lots of clever and useful perks alongside having an electric powertrain.
In fact, many owners like to test their vehicles and capabilities to really see how well the EV performs.
For example, one man in California put a Tesla Cybertruck against a Chevy Silverado in a big battle of diesel versus electric.
Plus, in Virginia, a 24-hour traffic jam left one man experimenting with how long two Teslas could stay warm in frozen temps.
You can catch the ambient lighting in action.
