Tesla Cybertruck owners may soon see Active Noise Cancellation, or ANC, finally come to life inside their stainless steel pickups.
The long awaited feature has quietly appeared on Tesla’s updated trim comparison tool, tucked between speaker counts and drivetrain specs.
It’s not really a flashy upgrade, like a new acceleration mode or off road upgrade.
But for many drivers, it could make a bigger difference than either of those.

The feature is already present in the Model S and Model X
The $59,990 Cybertruck has already delivered plenty of surprises since launch, yet ANC might be the most practical upgrade hiding in plain sight.

Tesla has now officially listed Active Noise Cancellation as standard on the Premium AWD and Cyberbeast trims.
That is notable because, as of today, every Cybertruck on the road has the hardware installed but the software switched off.
In classic Tesla fashion, the capability has been there all along, just waiting for an over the air update to flip the switch.
Earlier this year, a deep dive into Tesla’s Service Toolbox revealed that the Cybertruck shares its core ANC hardware architecture with the Model S and Model X.
The system is present, wired up, and ready to go.
The service notes even state that ANC software is not enabled despite the hardware being installed.
While the Model S and Model X use six cabin microphones, the Cybertruck relies on four, paired with its 15 speaker sound system to generate the anti noise effect.

The new base Dual Motor AWD Cybertruck won’t get ANC
So why the delay?
The Cybertruck is not exactly a quiet, cushy sedan.
Its giant glass roof, angular cabin design, heavy all terrain tires, and aluminum castings create a very different acoustic environment.

Road noise behaves differently in this truck compared to Tesla’s other models.
Engineers likely needed extra time to fine tune the system so it cancels the right low frequency rumbles without interfering with music or conversation.
Once activated, ANC will work much like noise cancelling headphones.
Microphones inside the cabin detect unwanted sound, especially the low hum from tires and pavement.

The system then produces inverted sound waves through the speakers, effectively neutralizing that background drone and creating a calmer interior.
According to Tesla’s latest trim breakdown, ANC will be reserved for the Premium AWD and the range topping Cyberbeast.
The new base Dual Motor AWD will skip the feature, likely due to its reduced speaker count.
So while the hardware is already there, current owners will have to wait for Tesla to press ‘send’ on the update.
