A Texas man with a Lamborghini Huracán just proved that buying a supercar is only half the story; the other half is surviving the maintenance costs that come with it.

What started as a dream car quickly turned into a financial reality check after he faced an engine replacement that would cost a good chunk of many people’s homes.

And while the manufacturer stepped in to cover the cost, it was still enough to make him warn fans that luxury performance comes with luxury-sized expenses.

If you ever thought buying a Lamborghini Huracán, these are the costs you’ll be facing.

Expect things like $500 oil changes

That’s the dilemma explored by Ekko Vision CEO Emtiaz Uddin (@ekkoceo) and his friend Noah Jay (@noah.jay), who both shared their experience of owning Huracáns in Texas.

Uddin bought his car brand-new, and drove it for about 12,000 miles.

However, he ended up needing a full engine replacement after a bracket broke, which was something he blamed on Houston’s rough roads.

Fortunately, Lamborghini covered the repair, which typically starts in the mid-five figures, and can easily climb above $100,000.

Still, the Texas man said the scare was a wake-up call about the real cost of keeping such a machine on the road.

Meanwhile, Noah Jay broke down his own bills in a separate TikTok clip.

These included a $500 oil change, a $3,000 diagnostic visit just to reset dashboard codes, and an upcoming $20,000 repair for a potential cam system issue.

According to him, the reality of owning a Lambo means you can’t just make it big; you have to stay big.

And this is of course true for all supercars, not just Lamborghinis.

Budget up to $10,000 per year to service your Lamborghini Huracán

According to official service schedules, a Huracán should be serviced every year or 9,000 miles, with larger services every two to three years.

But between tires ($3,000–$5,000 a set), brake jobs ($2,000–$4,000), and other maintenance, even normal ownership adds up fast.

Experienced owners say that you have to budget $15,000 to $25,000 over five years for basic upkeep, or around $5,000 to $10,000 per year if you’re driving regularly.

While the Huracán is certainly fast on the track, it might be even faster at burning your hard-earned money.

Uddin joked that his supercar ‘keeps him working hard’, and Jay’s numbers show exactly why.

While owning a Lamborghini may be a dream come true for many, your wallet will definitely feel the pain.
