This 18-year-old Californian bought a Lamborghini as his first car, and he did so for an important reason.

Buying one’s first set of wheels is a pivotal moment in a person’s coming-of-age journey.

But most people don’t land themselves a Lamborghini Huracán EVO the first time around.

However, James Wang had an important reason for such a lavish purchase.

We all remember our first cars, right?

Many people would swear up and down that theirs came with a ton of issues, and it was all they could afford.

The Dodge Stealth is a prime example of that, as one dad found out when he purchased it for his daughter.

But for a lot of people, there’s a lot of sentimentality that comes with their first car.

One guy snagged himself a 1971 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow after seeing it in the Elton John biopic.

Even for the rich and famous, first cars carry a lot of significance.

Billionaire Mark Cuban’s first car purchases were astoundingly cheap — he didn’t spend more than $200 on a vehicle until he was over 25 years old.

James Wang wasn’t quite so frugal his first time around.

In a video posted to his Instagram, he shared the moment his Lamborghini Huracán EVO was delivered.

It came in a bold purple color.

Suffice to say, the 18-year-old was ecstatic – and even did a little dance to demonstrate.

Getting this Lamborghini meant a lot to him, as he explained in the post’s description.

“I bought my dream car, a Lamborghini Huracan Evo as my first car at 18,” he wrote.

“After leaving college four months ago, I took delivery of my first car today. I had no handouts, no safety nets, no backup plan.

“I didn’t grow up around this and I wasn’t ‘supposed’ to end up here.

“I didn’t buy this to impress anyone, but to remind myself this is what happens when you bet on yourself — fully.”

Wang is a self described ‘gamer to self-made millionaire’, so the EVO was in his budget.

These cars tend to sell for upwards of $221k.

Wang helped found Fortune Collective, an ‘exclusive crypto trading community’.

On the company’s website, Wang described going from playing Fortnite to getting involved with NFTs.

He said this made him a millionaire by the 10th grade.

As he detailed in his website bio, the journey wasn’t always the easiest, but it paid off.

So for him, getting the EVO was a way of reminding himself of what can happen when you work hard.

At any rate, to have a Lambo as an 18-year-old is flex-worthy.
