A man who managed to rack up a staggering 1,000,000 miles in his 2003 Honda Accord has given an update now he’s added an extra 50,000 miles on the clock.

The Honda Accord hit the impressive milestone back in March 2023 and its owner Justin Kilmer, from Texas, has been steadily adding to the miles since.

The car was originally bought brand-new by Justin’s wife Lisa and was her daily driver for more than a decade.

With 185,000 miles on the clock, she gave the vehicle to Justin who soon added tens of thousands more thanks to his job as a medical courier.

The 2003 Honda Accord hit 1,000,000 miles last year

In just seven-and-a-half years, Justin added a whopping 815,000 miles onto the car, which works out at around 109,000 miles per year.

Justin gathered his family and friends to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, to watch the Honda Accord’s odometer clock over to 1,000,000.

“The car’s been in the family the entire time. Our girls have grown up with this car,” he told KRISTV

“That’s why reaching a million was pretty emotional for us.”

He’s also pretty proud of how many people he and his trusty 2003 Honda Accord have helped during that time.

“When you think about how many lives this car has probably helped out and potentially saved with medicine it’s pretty rewarding,” he told the outlet.

So, how’s the Honda doing now?

Justin documents his Honda Accord’s accomplishments on his TX Accord YouTube channel.

In a recent update, he revealed that the car now has 1,050,000 miles on the clock and is still being driven daily.

However, he said the miles will now ‘accrue a lot slower than they used to’ due to him no longer working as a medical courier.

Justin said that almost as soon as the Accord completed its millionth mile, the radiator started leaking and had to be replaced.

At 1,005,78 miles the 2003 Honda Accord also needed some new fuel injectors, plugs, and coils.

Since then he’s carried out numerous other repairs, including changing the radiator hoses, fitting a new map sensor, and replacing two suspension arms.

Justin has also carried out a lot of cosmetic work on the vehicle, including a new paint job and new leather seats.

So, it seems the Honda Accord will be running for many more years to come.
