A man from Texas who bought a self-service car wash has shared how much money he has made from it a year later.

YouTuber StephentheInvestor bought the wash around a year ago, and then spent some time renovating it and bringing the facilities up to date.

He bought the car wash as it was a community asset and was close to closing down, and since then, he has worked hard to keep the business up and running.

After a year of owning it, he recently uploaded a video detailing how much he has made in those 12 months.

What it is like running a self-service car wash

As the video showed, it’s not the easiest thing in the world to run a self-service car wash!

Stephen has recently had to deal with someone stealing his foam brushes on a regular basis.

Incredibly, he was recently caught and is likely to get four years in prison, as he was also using a stolen car.

Running the wash also involves collecting the cash and coins in the machines after a week or two.

Payments made by card, of course, will be sent to the owner via a system.

At the end of each collection, all the money needs to be totaled up.

In this video, Stephen said he was hoping to make a good chunk of cash.

How much was made over the past year?

In the second part of the video, we can see Stephen counting the money from his collection.

Coins have to go through a machine to be totaled up, and notes go through a stacker machine.

In quarters alone, he made around $3,202 in just over two weeks.

Watching the machine count the notes was quite mesmerizing as they flew through.

By the end, he had $2,611 from the bills that went through the machine.

In just one month, the car wash had made just over $20,000.

With expenses and costs factored in, the total was around $12,000.

The YouTuber said this was up from what he earned in November 2024.

He was very happy with this, as it showed running the business was proving to be successful.
