The 2026 Ram 1500 just gave fans the Hemi V8 they never should’ve dropped

Long live the 2026 Ram 1500! Finally, fans have the Hemi V8 back that never should have been dropped in the first place.

The Hemi V8 was dropped from the Dodge Charger and the Jeep Grand Cherokee, and it looked like Dodge was going to carry on that trend with the Ram 1500.

At least the CEO of Dodge acknowledged that it completely “screwed up when [it] dropped the Hemi,” but it was still unfair of Dodge to do that to us.

Everything is back as it should be, apart from one interesting change to one of the logos, signalling a move towards something new in the future.

Fans of the Dodge Ram around the world are breathing a collective sigh of relief after hearing that the Ram 1500 will usher in the return of a beloved feature after almost going extinct.

Dodge previously embarked on a world apology tour after the CEO acknowledged that it completely “screwed up when [it] dropped the Hemi.” And so, the Hemi V8 is back, baby!

The 2026 Ram 1500 is going to come with a payload capacity of 1,750 lbs and a new towing capacity of over 11,000 lbs.

Once Ram acknowledged its mistake, it scrambled to get the Hemi reinstalled as soon as possible, but fans grew concerned due to a lack of Hemi engines in the Jeep Grand Cherokee and the new Dodge Charger style.

The Ram 1500 seems very stylistically similar to its predecessors, but there is one little difference which shows the Ram Hemi V8 engines are entering a new era.

Instead of the classic HEMI symbol on the side, there is a new logo with a picture of a Hemi engine with a ram’s head on it.

The new and restored Ram 1500 will be hitting dealerships across America this summer, but we can all take a big sigh of relief in the meantime and welcome back our old friend – the Hemi engine.
