A V8 Dodge Viper with a difference

It’s an unusual creation for sure – turning a Dodge Viper into a limo.

In making this a reality, some creative liberties had to be taken, including adding a second roll bar.

Whilst there are 10 seatbelted chairs in the car including the two in the front, it can fit 12 people as a static party location.

It might sound like a massive safety hazard to have that many people in a what is conventionally a V10 car.

But that’s not the situation here.

The Viper’s signature 10-cylinder engine has been switched out for a 360 CID Mopar V8.

This means that whatever power is generated goes through an automatic gearbox instead of a six-speed manual.

A Viper by any another name

Dodge Vipers have been around since the 1990’s and have been released in several iterations since.

Although they nearly ceased production in 2010, then-chief executive of Chrysler Sergio Marchionne saved them.

They have since been named number 10 on the ‘Most American Cars’ list, meaning more than 75% of its parts are made in the US.

It would then be discontinued in 2017, with 32,000 having been produced over 26 years.

Since then, they’ve been popping up in some surprising places.

And not just as a stretch limo.

One motorbike enthusiast from the UK decided to put the Viper’s V10 engine inside a motorcycle.

It bumped the bike’s original top speed from 160mph up to a staggering 270mph.
