Exploring space is an area that many companies and entrepreneurs are trying to conquer.

From NASA to startup companies with hypersonic aircraft, the area of science and technology is constantly evolving.

Take this Californian, for example – he spent $5 million of his own money to find a way for people to ‘go’ to space for free.

Plus, researchers in New Mexico recently created a fascinating new ‘spacecraft speedometer’ device.

Thanks to ever-changing tech, things are only set to get more interesting too.

Enter Haven-1, the world’s first commercial space station.

The exciting project is set to launch next year, and it could change space travel.

Inside, the interior resembles that of a luxury hotel, with the views of the galaxy set to outdo every balcony on Earth.

“Haven-1 targeted to launch May 2026, is a state-of-the-art, human-centric space station, home to an innovation lab for both private astronauts and government missions,” stated Vast, the company that is making it all happen.

There are three types of missions available – payload alongside both government and private astronaut missions.

Now, Vast has shared new details online, quipping: “The era of commercial space stations begins with Haven-1, launching next year.

“Whether you’re a sovereign nation, space agency, scientist, company, or private astronaut – the time is now.

“Join our mission and help pioneer the next giant leap in space exploration.”

And, getting there will be an experience too.

“The crew will launch aboard a SpaceX Dragon spacecraft, orbiting Earth with a series of maneuvers to rendezvous with Haven-1 in low-Earth orbit. Dragon will autonomously dock with Haven-1, but can be manually controlled as needed,” explained Vast.

“Haven-1 will be in orbit for three years, enabling four separate missions with four crew aboard each mission.

“These missions will last [around] ten days, and we will be testing the capabilities of artificial gravity in between these missions,” it continued.

So, there’s a whole lot to look forward to in terms of space travel over the next three years.

For now, you’ll have to settle for the Haven-1 preview video at the top of this page.
