The thinnest car in the world is a wild Fiat Panda mod that actually works, and what is underneath the hood is truly impressive

Fiat is well known for its snug builds.

But even the space-efficient Italian brand wouldn’t dare to come up with this bonkers contraption.

Having modified a Fiat Panda beyond recognition, the thinnest car in the world is actually a miracle under the hood.

The thinnest car in the world has magic under its hood

There are a lot of very, very small cars out there, and we’ve even been behind the wheel of some extremely snug vehicles.

Some of these tiny cabs are even coming to America.

But we recently came across the thinnest car in the world, and this bizarre creation has some incredible mechanics going on underneath its skinny hood.

Made by a dude called Andrea Marazzi – then showcased on YouTube by Jennifer Makau – this Fiat Panda was a year in the making and is just 50 centimetres wide.

But no ordinary engine fits inside that.

Having once stored an inline four-cylinder engine, Marazzi was forced to change his power supply and warp this Fiat Panda into an EV.

Instead of its combustion engine, it now has a 24V battery motor taken from an e-scooter under the hood.

This does limit the car rather significantly, making it tap out at a max speed of nine miles per hour.

No doubt there might be a way of manufacturing a supercharger kit for it and giving the motor some zest, but simply getting the car moving is an accomplishment in itself.

Still, it looks like something out of Harry Potter.

Take it away, Ernie!

Fiat Panda strikes again

Funnily enough, the lowest car in the world is also a Fiat Panda.

Made by Carmagheddon, the flat-cap-looking design is actually a cut-up Fiat Panda that can only be driven by a lay-down driver using a remote-operated GoPro feed.

There must be something very fun about the Panda’s physique that makes it ripe for modification.

Or just that it’s the cheapest car to come out of Italy and people don’t mind chopping one up…
