Stored in a Los Angeles junkyard hides a collection of rare European classic cars – among them are three ultra-rare Lamborghini Miuras, which can fetch millions on the market.
The Lamborghini Miura is often considered the legacy car of the Italian sportscar manufacturer.
It would be fair to say that the Miura is also the reason why the brand exists today.
So how did these three iconic cars come to be here?

Ultra-rare Lamborghini Miuras found in a junkyard
All three Lamborghini Miuras are part of ‘The Junkyard’ collection by Rudi Klein.
The collection was stored in his Los Angeles junkyard, protected by steel fencing and razor wire.
The iconic V-12-engined vehicle is also one of the most sought-after classic cars in the world.
Due to that, it auctions for millions of dollars.
So it is quite a rare feat to find three examples of such an iconic classic car.
However, there is a catch as all three Lamborghini Miuras are in dire need of restoration.
These three Lamborghini Miuras aren’t running at the moment and are also missing bodywork or critical components.
Out of the three classic cars, one is complete, the second is missing bodywork, and the third is missing an engine and transmission.
The three cars also come in different original finishes.
The most significant one is the aqua-green 1968 Lamborghini Miura P400, believed to have been owned by Lamborghini engineer and test driver Claudio Zampolli.
The Junkyard Collection
All cars in ‘The Junkyard’ collection belonged to Rudi Klein, a German immigrant and businessman.
He had spent 40 years of his life amassing an incredible array of rare European classic cars.
Unfortunately, Klein passed away in 2001, leaving his collection of exotic cars.
Other than the three Lamborghini Miuras, the collection also features cars from Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, Aston Martin, and Ferrari.
