Jay Leno challenged a blindfolded Tim Allen to guess what car he was driving, and it left people stunned.
On Jay Leno’s Garage, he put the Toy Story actor to the test in a segment called ‘Stump a Car Nerd’.
The premise is that Allen would be blindfolded and sat inside a car which he would have to identify without sight.
It sounds difficult, but Allen made it to look like a cake walk.

Just how good was Tim Allen at identifying cars blindfolded?
When most people think of Tim Allen, they’ll likely think of his movie roles, whether it’s as Buzz Lightyear in the Toy Story series or as Santa Claus in the Santa Clause franchise.
But it turns out he’s a man of hidden depths, and being a car nerd is one hidden aspect of his character.
Leno decided to put that to the test by placing him blindfolded inside several cars and seeing if he could figure out which was which.

The first car was a 1970 Mazda Cosmo, which Allen proceeded to feel.
“I chose this car because I’m pretty sure I’m going to stump Tim,” Leno said.
Once in the car, Leno took him for a drive, and Allen started throwing out some guesses.

He was quickly able to ascertain that it was a Japanese car based on it being a right-hand driver and the wing mirrors being ‘up front’.
It was time to make a guess, and he landed on a Mazda.
Impressive, but it was time for the second car – a 1959 Oldsmobile 88 with a 315hp V8 engine.
It was the same routine as before, with Allen feeling around the exterior and stepping inside for a drive.

He was listing the car’s features with no problem – it was made by General Motors, it was from the late 50s, and it had a V8 engine.
He was pretty on the money this time around, being out only by a model year.
Two for two is impressive stuff, but would the third car be the one to catch Allen out?
Would Jay Leno be able to get one over on his friend?
On the third and final car, a 1972 Citroën SM was up for inspection, and it was evident that Leno had a soft spot for it.
“It’s French, it’s elegant, and even though this car is over 40 years old, it still looks like the future!” he said in a voiceover.

Allen did his usual deduction, narrowing down that it was a French car with a V6 engine from the early 1970s.
And he was right on the money once again.
Allen was in good company when it comes to celebrity car aficionados, as Leno’s love of cars is legendary.
There’s a good reason car collection is the third most popular with Google searchers, trailing only Cristiano Ronaldo and Bill Gates.
Leno’s garage is home to more than 200 cars and is undeniably a treasure trove of limited cars.
