Ladies and gentlemen, Tom Cruise is back at it again.

The Hollywood legend, 62, is renowned for performing his own stunts in his films – but this one might just beat them all.

Behind-the-scenes footage has been released of Cruise dangling from an upside-down crop duster whilst filming Mission Impossible – The Final Reckoning.

Tom Cruise’s latest cinematic blockbuster is set for release on silver screens worldwide in May 2025, bringing the curtain down on the legendary franchise.

Cruise control: a maverick renowned for stunt work

Of course, this might well be the latest crazy stunt from Cruise’s repertoire – but it is far from an isolated one.

In fact, Cruise has been pulling off the ridiculous since 1986 – when he starred in the legendary Top Gun, directed by Ridley Scott and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer.

For that movie, Cruise and the cast trained with a live squadron of pilots from the U.S. Navy in order to perform the best portrayal possible.

He repeated the process for the epic sequel Top Gun: Maverick, which finally released in cinemas worldwide in 2022.

Mission (somehow) Possible: Tom Cruise pushes boundaries

Since then, Cruise has only gone from strength to strength. In the Mission Impossible franchise, he has done almost everything.

From piloting a helicopter through a narrow valley, to clinging onto the side of an AC-130 Hercules in Hertfordshire, UK, Cruise has done it all.

This doesn’t include his amazing stunt work on the ground, which includes various fantastic car stunts, as well as an insane motorcycle chase in Morocco in 2015’s Mission Impossible – Rogue Nation.

Oh, and by the way – in Dead Reckoning – Part One, Cruise casually rode off of a cliff on a modified off-road bike.

Following that, he and the rest of the cast fight through a dangling train, which just so happens to falling off the edge of said cliff.

However, based on the footage, this latest stunt might just top them all.

The video appears to show Cruise dangling from the plane at an altitude between 4,000-8,000 feet whilst the plane is inverted. Add to the fact that Cruise is now 62 years old, and it just defies belief.

Granted, the Hollywood star gets handsomely rewarded for his work on the silver screen.

But of all of the celebrities and stars of Hollywood, Cruise crafts his art like no other.
