Last Sunday, this town in England hosted a huge selection of classic cars from all over the world, and they were perfectly supported by the quaint picture of a perfect British town as the tires met cobbled streets.
Guildford is a British town in the county of Surrey and is handily located about 30 minutes on the train from London – it also happens to be the home of a lot of classic cars.
The Guildford Lions, a group of volunteers dedicated to making the town a nice place to live, put on a classic car display for residents and visitors alike to take in some of the nicest pre-1983 cars that the town has, for free.
It was a car superfan’s dream, so it was no surprise to anyone that we were on the scene to see some of our favorite and most iconic classic cars from all over the world.

Cobbled streets full of classic cars are where dreams are made of
It’s a real treat when you get to see a classic car. But a whole street of classic cars is the stuff dreams are made of.
The Guildford Lions welcomed tons of classic cars to the High Street. Throngs of visitors stopped by to have a look at their favorite cars, which had all been polished up and looked brand new for the occasion.
But it wasn’t just classic British cars on display in the town.
In fact, there was a whole line of beautiful Corvettes. They included a black and white Chevy Bel Air hardtop, as well as a more modern bright orange 1974 Corvette, which really stood out in the sun.
The Chevrolet flag was also being flown by a 3100 pickup truck in the color ‘melon gel’. We were told it had been repainted from its original maroon and gray.
There were some more classic American cars as well, represented through a classy champagne Cadillac.

British stars shine in the sun
Of course it wouldn’t be a proper British car display without some classic British cars. We were treated to some that were incredibly vintage and some that brought back old memories.
There was a rare forest green 1963 Sunbeam Alpine SIII, a light blue 1964 Jaguar Mk2 3.8-litre, and a proper old-school Jaguar XK120 Roadster from the 1950s that looked like racing royalty.
You couldn’t ignore this amazing black and white 1956 Armstrong Siddeley Sapphire either, another British classic.

There was no shortage of vintage cars that we rarely see on the streets today as the marques have slowly been discontinued, like this very British MG car.
These Austins are truly built for these cobbled streets, as well as being vintage and iconic.
For instance, the Austin Seven and the Austin 12/4, both hail from the 1930s, so are almost a century old, but still look great.

A town in England but cars from all over the world
A lot of the classic cars were from America or the UK. But other countries were represented as well, particularly Germany.
It wouldn’t be right if there wasn’t an iconic VW campervan like this fab yellow one. Or even a classic VW Bug like Herbie, who was also rumored to make an appearance, although we didn’t see him.
A real showstopper came in the form of this pale green Opel that hailed from some point in the 1970s. And of course, there were some Mercedes-Benzes on show too.

Thankfully, the weather stayed surprisingly nice for the majority of the car display in this quaint town in England.
And no one could mistake the roar of the classic engines as they peeled off after the display began to wrap up.
The Guildford Lions truly made a classic car superfan’s greatest dreams come true on the cobbled streets of this town in England.
What an impressive display!
