US President Donald Trump has announced a new game-changing US car deal with Japan, and both Nissan and Toyota are already feeling the profits without shipping a car.

In April, the US government sent shockwaves around the world with a flat 25 percent tariff on imports into the country.

This had major ramifications on the automotive sector, with imports dropping significantly since then.

But after months of negotiating, President Trump has revealed a new US car deal with Japan, which is already reaping its reward.

When the tariffs were originally announced, Japanese car manufacturers were sent scrambling for answers.

But that panic has now been alleviated.

“I just signed the largest trade deal in history – I think maybe the largest deal in history with Japan,” President Donald Trump announced.

The deal will see a 15 percent reciprocal tariff on Japanese goods exported to the US, including cars. This is a stark decrease from the 25 percent tax placed in April.

“They had their top people here, and we worked on it long and hard. And it’s a great deal for everybody,” he added.

This new US car deal with Japan was strongly boosted by the Japanese government injecting $550 billion into the U.S. economy, 90 percent of which will stay within America.

Straight off the bat, the stock market has erupted in Japan.

Overnight, Nissan’s stock has risen by eight percent, while Toyota’s has gained a huge 13 percent increase.

Both Nissan and Toyota have showcased some huge wins in imports to China since the US tariffs were rolled out, which could be huge for the companies now that they can affordably sell cars in America again.

A new $15k electric SUV from Toyota, the bZ3X, became to best-selling foreign EV in China this month, while Nissan’s N7 smashed records before going global.

Both of these Japanese giants have promising new cars that will undoubtedly continue to perform in America.

Japan is one of the biggest suppliers of cars to America, up there with Germany, and it will likely get back to business with this new deal.

That is, until Chinese EVs finally get imported to the US.

And, experts think that the possibility is increasing every day.
