Toyota is currently the world’s single-largest automaker, with both ICE and EV models in its range.
The Japanese brand churns out millions of units every single year across the globe.
Recently, Toyota has announced a brand-new electric vehicle as part of its range.
But this one sounds like it is going to be completely unique.

Toyota steps up European production plans
Like other rival brands, Toyota is constantly looking for ways to grow and evolve.
Japan’s biggest car brand is currently working towards the best way to handle the evolution of the car industry.
And it appears that the European continent is the first step in the answer to this dilemma.
That is because Toyota has announced plans to build its new electric offering in Europe.
The plant in question will build said vehicle at its facility in the Czech Republic.

This is important because it represents the first electric vehicle produced at one of Toyota’s European facilities.
And the brand is already taking steps to accommodate production of the upcoming model.
It’s reportedly investing around $800 million to expand its facility from 152,000 to 173,000 square meters.
The upgrades will include a new paint and welding shop, in addition to a battery assembly facility.
Thankfully, it’s receiving a considerable amount of help from the Czech government to achieve its aims.
Could Czech plant be launching pad for Europe focus?
The Czech government is providing up to $75 million in funding for a new dedicated battery assembly plant.
At the moment, the brand currently produces its Aygo X and Yaris Hybrid models at its Czech plant.
These two models currently have an annual output capacity of around 220,000 vehicles.

Adding this new model is expected to significantly boost production at the facility.
Interestingly, some reports suggest that not one, but several electric vehicles will actually be made there.
What is even more interesting is that the Czech plant could become a major manufacturing hub.
2026 is expected to see several new models introduced, with at least three in the pipeline.
Could this Czech facility be a launching pad for Toyota to start battling back in Europe again?
