Woman with 2-day-old Tesla Model 3 already wants to switch back to her Toyota Camry

This woman replaced her Toyota Camry with a Tesla Model 3 and regretted it immediately.

After buying her Tesla, the woman shared her disappointment on TikTok pretty much every day, sometimes more than once a day.

She was so disappointed with the EV that she got rid of it just days after she bought it.

Ultimately, going back to Toyota.

Mariah Padilla, an 18-year-old from California, wanted to replace her Toyota Camry with a Tesla Model 3.

She said she had done her research and was determined to buy the Tesla, but once she actually got the car, it became clear to her that maybe it wasn’t the right decision.

Padilla has a significant following on TikTok, around 174,000 people, and ordinarily she mostly shares tips about beauty and skin care.

However, after buying her Tesla, she started posting updates about her experience.

In numerous videos, Padilla addressed several concerns she had about her Tesla, including range.

“My drive to work is 20 miles, so why did I lose 40 miles of range?” she asked in one video.

The response she received was mixed, but this didn’t matter much to her because, just a few days later, she went back to a Toyota dealer and bought a brand-new Camry.

In an another video, she said that she was going to buy a brand-new Camry because it was as close as possible to the old one she traded in.

“Obviously, I’m going to lose so much money [over this], but I’m in the process of getting a new Camry,” she said.

Buyer’s remorse?

Statistically, EV owners don’t want to go back to gas cars.

There are several surveys that confirm this is the case across the board.

However, switching from internal combustion to newer vehicles doesn’t always go smoothly.

A while back, a former muscle car owner shared his experience with his new Tesla, and he did admit that his Tesla was great but a bit bland when compared to his old car.

Then there are hydrogen cars.

Hydrogen cars owners often note that driving a hydrogen fuel cell vehicle isn’t as economical as they thought.

Then there’s the debate between battery (BEV) vs hydrogen fuel cell (FCEV) technology.

Motorists who own both a BEV and a FCEV are clear on this.

Hydrogen cars charge faster than battery cars, but that’s basically the only advantage as they can be very challenging to live with.
