This one clip of a Toyota Land Cruiser scaling a sheer cliff face explains everything about why it is the greatest off-roader ever built

The Toyota Land Cruiser is probably the most amazing go-anywhere, do-anything vehicle in the world.

There’s nothing it can’t do.

No mountain too high—and in this case, that’s barely an exaggeration.

Considering how easily this Toyota off-roader managed to climb a near-vertical hill.

This Toyota defied the laws of gravity and physics

A while back, a video posted to Reddit went viral because it depicted a Toyota Land Cruiser taking on a near-vertical slope like it was no big deal.

In the short clip you can see above, the Toyota Land Cruiser defied gravity as it scaled up the steep cliffside.

To be fair, the driver did their bit as well, making the steepest of inclines look like a gentle hill.

Other automakers tried similar feats, and failed.

Not long ago, Chery tried recreating Land Rover’s iconic Dragon challenge and failed.

The automaker later apologized for even trying.

Why people believe these vehicles are ‘unkillable’

There are several reasons why Toyotas are deemed ‘unkillable’, but we should probably give kudos to Top Gear for cementing the brand’s reputation.

It all started with an absurd challenge from about an episode released around 20 years ago.

Back then, Jeremy Clarkson tried everything he could to destroy a Toyota Hilux, but the truck just wouldn’t die.

And believe us when we say they did their absolute best to get the job done.

The Top Gear team drowned it in the Bristol Channel, hit it with a wrecking ball, and placed it on top of a 240-foot building that was being demolished.

It still started.

This led to more challenges.

Years later, Jeremy Clarkson and James May used modified Hilux trucks to reach the North Pole.

And a few years after that, James May climbed one of Europe’s steepest active volcanos at the wheel of Hilux.

So, all in all, a steep hill like the one we see above is just another day at the office for a the Japanese automaker.
