We are finally about to get a Toyota three-row EV SUV, and the long-awaited electric car is set to land in 2027.
The Japanese manufacturer has been late to the party when it comes to EVs, although it has been the king of the hybrids over the years.
But it is finally making some headway in the world of electric vehicles. This new three-row EV could be a fierce competitor to many of its rivals in Europe and America.
It would compete with the likes of the Hyundai Ioniq 9 as well as the Kia EV9.

What we know about the Toyota three-row EV so far
Toyota has at least confirmed that the three-row EV SUV is currently in development.
In fact, two might be on the way, with both set to hit the North American market.
One of which will be a Toyota, and the other will be a model from Subaru, but bearing a close relation to its counterpart.

It will be a partnership vehicle, similar to the Toyota GR86 and Subaru BRZ.
The two companies have also partnered up to produce the bZ4X and Solterra EVs.
It has been a real slow burner for the Japanese manufacturer, with it falling behind many rivals, including those from China.
The next question, then, is when will this new car hit the market?
When the company expects to launch its three-row EV SUV
Current expectations are that this electric SUV will hit the market in 2027.
That ties in with the reports stating the company wants to introduce 10 new electric cars in two years’ time.
The three-row SUV will likely form a part of that plan.
It was recently reported that the new three-row model will be assembled at the manufacturer’s factory in Georgetown, Kentucky.

While the rumor mill has been electric – pun intended – the Japanese company hasn’t released any technical details on the new car.
A new electric vehicle platform is set to launch from Toyota in 2026, and it could ride on that.
This will deliver much greater efficiency than we have seen on the current bZ4X SUV.
Toyota has taken its time when it comes to fully electric cars.
Maybe now it is finally getting things together and is set to show us what it can do.
