Toyota just turned one of its most hardcore SUVs into a Dakar tribute.

The Land Cruiser GR Sport Rally Raid isn’t a sticker job – it’s a desert flex.

It packs new hardware, dirt-ready styling, and bragging rights pulled straight from rally raids.

Toyota’s only building 12 of them, while another 12 owners can snag a conversion kit if they already have the diesel GR Sport.

So what makes the Toyota Rally Raid special?

This edition celebrates Team Land Cruiser’s 12th straight Dakar win

Toyota Auto Body – the brand’s SUV and van specialists – didn’t settle for graphics.

They gave the GR Sport real upgrades.

18-inch Enkei wheels sit under chunky Toyo all-terrains.

Red calipers and tow hooks flash against the bodywork.

Mud flaps and TLC graphics finish the look, giving it the vibe of a Dakar rig that somehow snuck onto city streets.

Inside, leather and ultra suede seats set the tone.

A Rally Raid plaque sits on the console so no one forgets how scarce this thing is.

Underneath, the suspension and cab mounts get reworked, giving the SUV sharper control over rough ground.

The drivetrain remains untouched – twin-turbo 3.3-liter diesel V6, 304 horsepower, 700 Nm of torque.

A 10-speed auto and locking diffs still handle the grunt.

Toyota knows not to mess with what’s already bulletproof.

The price comes in at about $63,500 (¥9.38 million).

If that’s out of your price range, you can snag the conversion kit for $10,200 (¥1.5 million).

A standard GR Sport goes for just over $55,000 in Japan.

The Rally Raid asks more, not for extra power, but for the bragging rights of rarity.

And to make it even rarer, you can’t even just buy it outright.

A dealer lottery runs from September 11-28, with winners getting the call after October 17.

So get in quick if you want to enter.

From there, the first deliveries are scheduled for December.

From Dakar dominance to your driveway

12 Dakar titles in a row isn’t luck – it’s Toyota Auto Body building a dynasty.

They’ve turned the production-class trophy into their personal property, and the Rally Raid is their way of letting the public share the spoils.

Other carmakers might hang a banner in a lobby.

Toyota builds a whole new Land Cruiser.

It’s motorsport heritage you can park in your driveway.

And some of it won’t stay locked to the special edition.

Toyota’s offering select Rally Raid parts through its dealers in Japan – wheels, mud flaps – small but telling pieces that let everyday owners add a slice of Dakar swagger.

The Rally Raid isn’t just rare metal.

It’s 12 wins condensed into one SUV, loud and unapologetic.
