Man lives out childhood dream by driving $1,300,000 hypercar that's so powerful it can drive upside down

An American racing driver has lived out a childhood dream by driving a $1.3 million hypercar from McMurtry that is so powerful it can drive upside down.
Racing and stunt driver Travis Pastrana recently got a chance to drive an incredible electric car, and at the Top Gear test track no less.
This was the incredible McMurtry Spéirling hypercar with a ridiculous amount of downforce and performance.
In fact, the Spéirling produces so much downforce that it could suck itself to a tunnel roof and drive upside down.
Why is the McMurtry Spéirling so impressive?
“Here we go, the world’s fastest vehicle,” said Pastrana as he got to see the car for the first time.
The McMurtry Spéirling is a monster, with 1,000hp under the hood thanks to its electric motors.
Two 23,000 rpm sucker fans create a ridiculous 4,400lbs of downforce while the car is standing still.
The boss of the company did actually drive the car upside down on a special platform in 2025.
It was only a short movement, but it proved the car could run upside down, thanks to the huge amount of downforce it makes.
“I think it would be cool if you had a tunnel and built an on-ramp,” said Pastrana.
The Spéirling actually does have the lap record around the Top Gear test track.
It beat a Renault F1 car around the circuit by around three seconds.
Pastrana was gently introduced to the power of the Spéirling
The McMurtry team gave Pastrana a build-up to the car at full blast.
His first run would see power cut to 50 percent, and the fans initially off, but then they would kick in.
The power of the car and fans can be adjusted via the steering wheel.
“Awesome,” Pastrana said after his first run.
He was in awe of how fast the car was even at reduced power settings.
“The car is a really cool go-kart, and you turn the fans on…” Pastrana explained, visibly stunned.
He was even more lost for words when McMurtry said he could turn the power up to full.
“Downforce up, power up, good freaking time.”
He felt he was going too fast to make the Hammerhead corner, but he still got around it no problem.

Throughout the video, it’s clear Pastrana is blown away by the car.
He also impressed the McMurty team with how much he understood about the car’s engineering.
For example, he completely understood why it has the powerful fans that suck it to the ground.
“Because you can do things that you can’t do with any other vehicle,” he said to Tom, the company’s founder.
He was in awe of what this small British company had managed to do.
Remember, too, this car holds the outright record up the iconic Goodwood Festival of Speed hillclimb, thanks to driver Max Chilton.
You can’t help but be hugely impressed by the McMurtry Spéirling.
