Two wheels against four, this drag between a twin-turbo Mustang and a turbo Suzuki Hayabusa was one of the most electrifying races in recent memory.
They both have turbo engines, too.
We’ve seen some quite incredible drag races throughout the years as cars and motorcycles alike try to prove that they really have that need for speed in them.
So, in this head-to-head best of three, a Turbo Mustang and a Suzuki Hayabusa went toe-to-toe in a race for the ages.

Turbo Mustang faced off against a Suzuki Hayabusa and the results are incredible
Taking inspiration from the classic car video game Midnight Club, YouTube group Hoonigan pitted a Nitrous Express Mustang against its two-wheel counterpart in the Suzuki Hayabusa.
The LS 427 Mustang GT has huge 1,500-horsepower 7-liter engine.
Meanwhile, the Hayabusa uses a 1,300cc motor with lowered compression, and tires to suit the no-prep track.
The 1000ft race would be determined in a best-of-three format, where the loser of each heat would choose a small handicap for the next head (five-yard headstart etc).
Previously, we’ve seen Mustang’s master drag races, but would the result be the same this time around?
Mustang GT vs Suzuki Hayabusa drag race results
The first race shot off with an intense pace.
While expectations though the Hayabusa would fare better off the mark, it was actually the Mustang that got off quickest.
From there, ‘Black Dust’ (nickname) maintained ferocious speed and capitalized on the better start to cross the line three car lengths ahead.
Heat two saw the bike get a small hit forward.
But, the racers were getting their eye in much better, and the Suzuki took full advantage of the tiny head start to keep a solid lead all the way to the line.
For a small moment, the Turbo Mustang looked like it would catch up, but a lack of grip on the track saw a slight wobble in the rear and Lainey managed to keep control, but at the expense of the gaining pace. 1-1.
The third and final heat saw the playing field get leveled, as Lainey backed herself so as not to need any advantage of Chilly’s bike.
Unlike the first head-to-head though, the motorcycle flew out of the gate and never looked back. The Mustang was left chewing on its own black dust and the Hayabusa ripped off down the straight to win by a huge margin.
While it wasn’t the news that the Mustang wanted, Ford’s renowned range can find solace elsewhere as another GTD has become the fastest American car around the Nürburgring.
