This compact motorhome, the Wingamm Oasi 540.1, is finally available in the U.S., but it’s actually smaller than the Ford F-150.

Buyers in the U.S. have been waiting for this tiny motorhome for some time but the size made the unveil a bit anti-climatic.

This RV is a bit too small for U.S. roads.

And the list of vehicles that are longer than it is – perhaps ironically – very long indeed.

This compact motorhome is small, but cleverly designed

The Oasi is made in Italy, a country that’s famous for a lot of things, but having large roads isn’t one of them.

In the crowded, densely populated streets and highways of Italy, a vehicle like the Oasi is quite large.

In the U.S., that’s probably what you’d call average.

The name Oasi 540.1 is a reference to its length, 5.41 meters, which is equivalent to 213.38 inches.

Just about any top-selling truck you can think of, not just the Ford F-150, is longer than that.

But, to be fair, this is actually the whole point of the motorhome, according to Wingamm.

The idea is to sell a motorhome that can do everything bigger RVs can do, but with a vehicle that’s less bulky and more efficient.

Despite its relatively minute dimensions, the Wingamm Oasi 540.1 has two sinks, one in the bathroom and one in the kitchen, a toilet, a stovetop, a dining table, a sofa and a queen bed.

From the outside, it looks like a regular camper but when you step inside, it feels modern and fresh.

It’s not cheap in absolute terms, but it’s probably not that expensive for what it is, coming in with a starting price just under $190,000.

Motorhome country

Very few countries in the world can match the United States when it comes to RVs.

American motorists just love that type of vehicle.

Luxurious RVs such as the Marchi, the Brabus ‘Big Boy’ and the Performance S are designed with the U.S. market in mind.

That’s before we get to DIY motorhomes.

An American couple has spent the last few years touring the country with a school bus they turned into a motorhome and, this is probably our favorite, there’s an American guy who turned his Lamborghini Urus (!) into a camper.

Imagine that.
