A 1996 Chevrolet Impala SS that has been stowed away in a garage since it was new is set to cross the auction block.
Chevrolet introduced the Impala back in 1958 with an original production run that lasted until 1985.
The nameplate was revived in 1994, this time rebranded as the Impala SS, before being discontinued again a couple of years later.
For the model year 1996, Chevy sold just shy of 42,000 units, and one pristine model is set to go under the hammer soon.

The 1996 Chevrolet Impala SS still has plastic wrapping on the seats
There are plenty of old cars out there in great condition, like this 1957 Chevy 3600 that was recently unearthed in a Californian barn, or this 1960 Maserati that still sported like-new bodywork.
However, this 1996 Chevrolet Impala SS is on a whole other level when it comes to being pristine.

For starters, it has just 79 miles on the clock and has hardly moved since it was made.
The car was bought new and then stashed away inside a ‘climate-controlled’ garage for almost 30 years.
As you’d expect, that means the car looks as good today as the day it rolled off the production line.
The Impala’s black paintwork and chrome are gleaming, and the 17-inch, five-spoke alloy wheels are in pristine condition, and the original factory tires are included.
Inside, the interior is still partially wrapped in plastic, as is the steering wheel, all pointing to its brand-new status.

It also comes with a CD player (remember them?), cruise control, and 6-way power front seats.
Under the hood, you’ll find a 5.7-litre V8 engine that produces up to 260 horsepower.
The as-new car is looking for a new home
Occasionally, when an older car goes up for auction, it’s in need of some TLC, but that certainly isn’t the case here.
Instead, the 1996 Chevrolet Impala SS looks like it has managed to time-travel three decades to 2025.

When new, the owner paid $26,192, and the car has the original documentation to prove it.
But, it’s likely to go for a fair bit more than that when it goes under the hammer via Mecum Auctions next January.
